Multimedia Bootcamps We haven't found the money to add the multimedia faculty we want yet. So in the meantime, current faculty and students are joining forces to find some interim methods for getting up to speed on multimedia. For example, our student chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Association for Hispanic Journalists teamed up to hold a Saturday bootbamp on creating a video story for the Web. They charged students $40 a piece; $20 of each fee went to the bootcamp instructor and the other $20 was a fundraiser for the clubs. A second bootcamp was held for faculty. And well be holding several more this spring, along with two more from local media when the SPJ chapter holds the regional conference at the UA. Were only sorry the excellent instructor is leaving this spring to go to Missouri to work on a PhD.
