What Needs Work Writing labs that were state-of-the-art classrooms a couple of years ago are out of date. Were trying to create multimedia labs on state budgets that are rife with rescissions and slashing.
We also struggle with questions like: Should we require each student to purchase a DV camera their first semester? Or should we be buying and loaning cameras? Same questions for audio equipment. What software needs to be in which labs?
One solution we've found to the first conundrum: We got a program fee approved by the Board of Regents, which will create a steady infusion of funds (student-directed) for refreshing all of our labs on a regular basis with new software and hardware.
