Our school, like many, is enmeshed in a deep and uneasy review of the curriculum. While there appears to be near universal agreement that the curriculum should become more flexible to enable students to gain a mix of media skills, faculty understandably fear diminishing the core education provided by traditional professional sequences. On the upside, the discussion has spurred a flurry of small, innovative initiatives that seem quite promising. As our Nike founder and university alum might say, Just do it!
