We need to all get along. We need to stop the worthless discussions about which media is better. We need to take a look at how to best prepare our students for the world they will face when they leave us. We need to help build the journalism of the future rather than sit on the sidelines and pine about the days of old and talk about how journalism "should" be. We need to admit openly that journalism is undergoing radical changes that few of us have any control over. We must start encouraging our students to embrace the basics of writing, reporting and ethics, but must also introduce to them new ways of telling compelling stories that may include having to get your hands dirty in technology (which will change tomorrow). By the way, the link button above is tough to understand. Normally I would highlight text where the link would go. The link for some reason goes instead to the bottom of the page. Here is a photo of our student media newsroom at Ole Miss.
